Preface:
Superstein began as an idea back in 2007—a stone that has to try and save the world. Between 2009 and 2015, a total of six games were created. None of them were ever really released, though—they never made it beyond the halls of a small forum. In 2016, the games were gradually remade in a more modern RPG Maker, and by 2018 that project was technically completed. But once again, dissatisfaction kept those versions from ever seeing the light of day. Now it’s finally time to close this chapter and bring it to the public after more than 17 years. The best parts of all six projects are being combined into one ultimate adventure! You could say this thing is the very definition of development hell, but hey, let’s see what happens.
Story:
A massive war has erupted in the Kingdom of Vargo. Demons are invading the land and have wiped out most of humanity. In a small, insignificant ore mine, a stone suddenly ignites with a fire never seen before. Superstein has no choice but to do what humanity can no longer do: defeat the demons. To do so, he sets out to unite the last three bastions of humanity into a gigantic army and kick the butt of Goroja, the leader of the demons. But Goroja and his hordes prove overwhelming in numbers, forcing Superstein and his newfound comrades to flee. Yet where do you escape to in a world overrun by demons?
Together with his friends, Superstein establishes a small camp on a remote island in the middle of nowhere, far from civilization. Priorities quickly clash: Lucia wants to find new allies and save humanity. Lilith wants to profit from the rest of the world and stockpile the camp. Emil just wants peace and quiet. Ricki? Well, he just wants something to drink. Ideally, all of this without Goroja finding out.
But how do you build an army in times like these? Humanity has lost its faith in the stone, dragging along a demoness doesn’t exactly help, and the few survivors left have more pressing concerns than saving their world…
