Forgotten Symphony

1.1

  • Replaced around 25 third-party plugins with custom code tailored specifically to the game, removing a lot of unnecessary overhead.
  • Removed all unused image/sound files, reducing the game size by over 30%.
  • All images and sounds were re-rendered and adjusted, improving overall performance.
  • Split the three largest maps (School, City, Sanctuary) into 2–4 sublevels to fix micro-stutters and “teleports” while moving.
  • Visually improved almost every map; overhauled shadow and light maps.
  • Ellie got a new phone, meaning the game received a brand-new menu that better matches the style of future projects.
  • Various in-game graphics revised and unified.
  • Added new animations at several points.
  • New sound effects added so it’s not just BGM and BGS playing anymore.
  • Characters in the sanctuary now face each other while talking, instead of looking in random directions.
  • The game now finally has usable doors instead of only open apartments!
  • Students in the school no longer “breathe” in perfect sync, which looked odd.
  • Animal name assignment in the sanctuary now shows the correct face image.
  • Boo’s events can now only be completed in the correct order, preventing glitches.
  • Various events can now only be triggered when Ellie is actually facing them, not just standing on the correct tile.

  • Reworked several school dialogues to fix small logic gaps and account for Nelio’s/Ellie’s popularity.
  • Adjusted three NPCs in the school that despawned too early.
  • Trains now slow down as they approach their destination instead of stopping abruptly.
  • Added region-based sound effects that players can approach, making the world feel more alive.
  • All main characters now have their own dialogue box colors to make it clear who’s speaking.
  • Freezes experienced by some players should now be fixed (still under testing).
  • ompletely re-pixeled the heating coil and placed it in a crate instead of a big pile of “something.”
  • Corrected several sanctuary dialogues where Ellie’s and Eren’s lines were swapped.
  • Repositioned dialogue boxes at the ocean so they don’t cover Ellie’s face.
  • Ellie now thanks everyone for a nice day at the sanctuary instead of just walking away.
  • Rewrote the dialogue in the school bathroom for smoother flow.
  • Adjusted two train-to-school dialogues to remove odd foreshadowing elements.
  • Recreated all of Ellie’s animations at the proper resolution.
  • Save files now display the correct current location and chapter in the menu.
  • Added an achievement menu and 17 achievements! Finally, those teddy bears pay off!
  • Adjusted animal sounds in front of enclosures to match the species, no more everything sounding like a parrot.
  • People no longer stand “brain-afk” around fire barrels; they now animate warming their hands.
  • Integrated the email system from Dichotomy to explain a logic gap and highlight Eren’s and Nelio’s friendship with Ellie.

  • Adjusted city dialogue with Eren to better show why Ellie lies to him about her mood.
  • Kuni now jokes about Ellie running the washing machine just for a single pajama.
  • Expanded on Ellie’s “water waste” issue with an explanation, tying it into Dichotomy and also adding it to Forgotten Symphony.
  • Teacher in the school now explains why dissecting penguins is necessary.
  • When Ellie wants a hug, Kuni now also expresses his concern for her, instead of only talking about Nel and Eren.
  • Ellie now mentions in emails that she needs help caring for her frog.
  • Adjusted Eren and Nelio’s epilogue to better convey the intended emotions.
  • Ellie now wears different clothes when “fixing” the toaster, with a proper line to match, so she’s not standing around in underwear.
  • Adjusted zoom levels in animations to avoid the engine-related “pixel bug row.”
  • Updated all water-waste related dialogues throughout the game.
  • Corrected waiting/sound order in several chat scenes so they now play correctly.
  • Typing animation fixed so Ellie’s fingertips aren’t overly long anymore.
  • Achievement texts now fit properly on screen.
  • Added a small interaction with the vending machine in the school.
  • Adjusted the city teleporter and gave it a logical explanation in the story.
  • All city NPCs now have dialogues.
  • Adjusted dialogues for ground-floor cupboards in the HRO building.
  • All crates on the HRO 3rd floor now have dialogues.
  • Added a safe next to the PC on the HRO 2nd floor for consistency.
  • Final HRO hacking scene now gives a hint that the app is on Ellie’s phone.
  • Added sound effects when guards die.
  • Recreated graphics for dead HRO soldiers.
  • New execution animation for Ellie when killing HRO soldiers.
  • Fridge door at Ellie’s place now has open/close sound effects.
  • Fixed bug where interacting with the wolf enclosure eight times could let players skip the entire sanctuary.
  • Fixed Ellie’s portrait in the credits (body extended beyond the frame).
  • Ellie’s attempt to comfort on the train now slightly influences the game’s ending.
  • Added a hint in Ellie’s apartment that Kuni should check the phone to see the app.
  • Added a hint at the ocean that Eren sent an email and Kuni can check the phone.
  • Corrected spelling in “Sleepover Party,” “School,” and “first train” segments.
  • Changed kiss sound effect to one that fits better.
  • Added more dialogues in the HRO building (second visit).
  • Final PC dialogue now includes a reference to the massacre in France (Dichotomy).
  • Shadows of dead guards no longer appear cut off.
  • Added more dialogues before the HRO building: Ellie now complains if you stand too long in the rain.
  • Adjusted sanctuary dialogues: Ellie no longer says “Open Sesame” to every door.
  • Added new dialogues for various objects in the sanctuary (previously none).
  • Ellie can now walk “behind walls and ceilings” in the correct spots, instead of only within the player’s visible range.
